Is there a way to have new users pay first through

Hi:

Is there a way to have new users pay first through the gateway and have there credentials for the WP login setup at the same time or after the payment (or even have Paypal set up there account for them using IPN etc)?

Right now, it appears, the NEW user has to click Register>Sign Up (for whatever subscription they want), then create a WP account first and then go back and click Register “again” (as a logged in user now) and click Sign Up “again” (as a logged in user now) which then allows the Paypal Subscribe or other actual buttons to appear so they can finanlly checkout. They would also have to know that they have to go back though again to be able (as a new user logged in) to so to pay or I would have to explain this to them along the way.

So, is they a simple and easy way for new users to go in and subscribe and pay without having to go through all that?

All alternatives and ways to make it easy on the new user (or current user for that matter) that anyone has to make it work better I am open to hearing?

Also, can we allow people to NOT register on WP and subscribe as well?

I could be looking at it wrong but that is what I see so far…

    Hi there Greg,

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

To disable wordpress registration, go to wp-admin > settings and make sure the “anyone can register” is not checked and save

With regards to the payment I’m afraid they can’t pay till they have an account or there is no user ID to attach the payment to and that means the subscription wouldn’t get applied. Though it shouldn’t make them sign up and then go back to sign up for the payment, once the account is created it should take them through the checkout process, is it not doing that?

    Thank you!

    Kind Regards

    Jack.

    Hey @Jack

    Ok.

I guess we can not have s2member and membership activated at the same time right? Or can we?

I deactivated s2member and I believe it is working now. I just wish we could have them immediately checkout with the cart and then at the same time set up the user or have Paypal set it up through a IPN back to the site. I think s2member did it that way…but, I like the feel of Membership…

I can deal with what Membership does and can adjust…but, any ideas or possibilities of allowing for a IPN setup of the user on the backside of the checkout process?

Oh, also, how does Membership deal with the user if there next monthly payment (for example) is does not go through for some reason (will it automatically deny access and send them notice to fix it before logging back in to gain access etc)?

    Hi there @Greg

I hope you are well today and sorry for the extreme delay with my reply, I had missed your previous response.

You are indeed correct that you couldn’t have s2member active at the same time as Membership as it would cause a conflict.

I can deal with what Membership does and can adjust…but, any ideas or possibilities of allowing for a IPN setup of the user on the backside of the checkout process?

When you say IPN is this PayPal or other, please advise.

Oh, also, how does Membership deal with the user if there next monthly payment (for example) is does not go through for some reason (will it automatically deny access and send them notice to fix it before logging back in to gain access etc)?

If the payment doesn’t go through on a serial subscription they would loose access and upon login need to visit their account page where they can make the payment on their account to regain access

Thank you and sorry again about the extreme delay with my reply.

    Kind Regards

    Jack.
