making sure elementor uses the themes font and text styling instead of its own

I have support access on.

How can I make elementor use the fonts/text styling of the theme instead of its own?

    Hello cornelius_butler

    I hope you’re well today!

Elementor doesn’t override theme styles “out of the box”. If you create a new post/page in a regular “WordPress way” (using Gutenberg or classic editor) it will be using default styles of the theme.

If you edit such page/post with Elementor it shouldn’t change anything either if you don’t use Elementor’s tools to make changes. If you add some element to the page/post using Elementor, that element will use whatever you configure it to use and yes, if it is an Elementor module it will take it’s default style coming from Elementor. But that’s the same with other modules – if you e.g. add a Forminator form, even if you do it via Elementor, it should by default use styles included with Forminator.

    Basically:

    – whatever is not/was not created/edited with Elementor, it will use default styles of the theme

    – if an element added comes from e.g. some other plugin it will use style included in that plugin (if there is any) or fall-back to theme’s stle

    – if some content is added/edited with Elementor then it will use “look & feel” that’s set for it in Elementor.

In general, Elementor is a “visual builder” plugin so the whole point of it is to let you use it and its tools to set how the content looks like. If you want to stick fully to the theme’s original styles then maybe there’s actually no need to use Elementor?

Gutenberg editor that’s now a default editor in WordPress lets you build pretty impressive and complex layouts now and the idea behind Gutenberg is to actually use theme’s styles.

However, that’s just a suggestion and I understand that you got some reasons for using Elementor but I’m not exactly sure what parts of the site/page would you like to change and what exactly do you mean by “elementor styling” there. Could you point me to specific parts/aspects of the site that you’re referring to and describe what should be changed there, please?

    Best regards,

    Adam
