Membership says everyone is already a member

Help!

I’ve installed Membership with two access levels: Visitor (ie anyone who visits the site, no login required) and Member ($4.95 subscription for access to certain content).

It’s letting people register but then telling them they already have a subscription.

Try it out here: http://peachesmag.com/join-the-erotica-club/

I’ve uninstalled the plugins that I installed after Membership so there shouldn’t be a conflict there…

HELP.

    Hey there.

I presume you have it so that the User Registration setting:

Admin –> Membership –> Options –> General [TAB]

You have this set to that stranger level?

This is a subscription, it’s a free one, but nevertheless still one.

Is this what you are seeing?

If not, could you please provide some screenshots and more details so that I may better understand.

    Cheers.

    Hey there.

You can use different shortcodes for different subscriptions.

    [subscriptiontitle subscription="2"]
    [subscriptiondetails subscription="2"]
    [subscriptionprice subscription="2"]
    [subscriptionbutton subscription="2"]

Replace the number with the ID of the subscription.

Or they will display all on the subscription signup page providing you have them set public from the subscription setting page.

What subscriptions you got? I don’t see that screen, just levels?

It looks like in the settings though that you’re assigning them a subscription. I just can’t see which one.

Can you provide more screenshots please?

    Cheers.

Where can I find a list of those shortcodes? I don't see any of those mentioned in the manual.

The subscription is very simple, I just outlined what the cost was for a member… attached.

All of the shortcodes are on the Access Level page and within the Options admin area with the exception on the ones I just listed.

I've also added them back to our usage tab for this plugin.

So, the subscription. In the Option admin area you are assigning them a subscription when they sign up. It's also the same as the premium subscription you have.

That's why they have that subscription.

You can edit the options admin for this and either change to the free one, or set as none.

As you see in the Options admin it says:

If you have free user registration enabled on your site, select the subscription they will be assigned to initially.

If you are using a paid subscription model – it is probably best to set this to "none".

Whereas currently it appears you're automatically giving them the premium plan.

    Take care.
