multi site plugin installations

Hi,

Thanks for taking a moment.

this may seem silly, but I can’t seem to find an add new plugin on the root of a multisite install…?

When I go to sites, I’m able to add plugins to the addons, but the dash of the root site has no add plugin button…? Am I missing the obvious here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you for this great question, it is greatly appreciated.

    You had indeed mentioned the root, but the concept I believe that is holding you up is that the root site has a site admin dashboard and a separate network admin dashboard.

    The network admin dashboard is the place where you add plugins and themes to your network/MultiSite installation.

    When logged in, go to "My Sites" in the upper left corned and choose "Network Admin" to get to the network administration dashboard. Screen shot below.

    The arrow shows the Network Admin selection and the rest are site administrations.

    Please advise if that gets you where you want to go.
