Multiple users for 1 WordPress account

Hi!,

We need to enable our clients to have various email/users for 1 account, so individual users can see orders, subscriptions, support tickets if such a plugin is enabled, etc. For example, a company has an account with us, and several users (employees) are assigned to that company, they all can see tickets, subscriptions, etc.

Thanks for your thoughts & ideas.

    Hi,

Technically you could just have all these users share the same account. But it would be better f each employee has their own account and you just provide access based on what each employee needs. For example, my support staff all have their own account. But they can see all tickes in the system, even those that belong to other staff.

Most of the good support plugins have this functionality built in (I use SupportCandy). But youy could also use something like user role editor. Create a custom role and assign the necessary access to that role. THen assign the employees as that role.

    Hi Wolf,

I was actually referring to what you described better: to have 1 account (aka company account) and associated users who can access that account. As you mention, even better if with different levels of access/permissions. So if the company (through one of their associated users purchases something), the other (allowed) users would be able to see that purchased product/subscription/download.

Any thoughts on how to get that done?

    Thanks!

    Hi D.,

but how do I “assign” the users to a company profile?

In general, any user who registers an account should have a profile, which should be the same for a company profile too.

The mentioned plugin User Role Editor allows you to create custom roles, which you can either manually assign to the user via the plugin, or you can set up default custom roles upon registration, under Settings > User Role Editor > Default Roles, so that when a new user registers they would automatically get assigned with the custom role created by the plugin.

I hope this brings more clarity. Please let us know if you have any further query. Have a great weekend ahead.

    Best Regards,

    Nithin
