New sites are defaulting to twenty fifteen template

When I create a new site and select the template I want the new sites just goes to the twenty fifteen and the site ends up blank. I made a template the default, but that didn’t seem to help.

Also, another question. I noticed that no plugins are activated on the new site. Is this how its supposed to be? I thought you would get a replica of the site you had created to be used as the template.

Thanks,

Jaime

    Hi @Jaime

On the “auto plugin activation” question, I know you’re using Pro Sites

You can auto-activate those plugins after you’ve activated “Premium Plugins” here:

    /wp-admin/network/admin.php?page=psts-modules

When that’s active, you can auto-activate them per-level basis here:

    /wp-admin/network/admin.php?page=psts-plugins

    I hope this helps

    Have a great day!

P.S. I think you need to activate Premium Themes as well to solve the first issue, set the level required for the theme you wish to use for that specific level

    Hey @Jaime!

On your 2nd question, inside the settings for the template site, did you make sure to select the box for “WordPress Settings, Current Theme, and Active Plugins”? (see screenshot below)

On the first question, I noticed that you’ve got a Coming Soon page set up here, could you please enable Support Access to your Multisite, and mention the template you were trying to test with?

    Kind Regards,

    Hi @Michael Bissett

Access has been granted. I will check the settings to see if they match your screenshot.

I was trying to test with the Pizza Clasica theme

    Hi @Sybre

    I will give that a shot.

    Thanks,

    Jaime

Edit: Just managed to create a site with no issues at all

Edit2: I was able to create a site using my superadmin account and was also able to signup for a new site with no issues.

However when I signup through the signup page that new user is getting assigned to the main site and their new site. How can I stop the new user getting registered to the main site. I only want them to stay in their newly created site.

    Thanks

Hey there @Jaime, hope you’re well today!

Glad to hear you managed to get that to work

As for user having access to the main site we had a similar request in this this thread. The solution from the post in the link will hide the main site from the “My Sites” dropdown for everyone aside from super admin.

This way your users who create new sites will not have main sites in the list of the sites that they have access to.

Please let me know if this helps

    Best regards,

    Bojan

    Hi @Jaime

I just checked in your site again and I see you’ve assigned the Current Site Role to Administrator. I’ve changed that to -- No role for this site -- on /wp-admin/admin.php?page=gf_user_registration&view=edit&id=3

    See if it’s fixed

    Hope you’ll have a great day ^^
