Order status emails – wording/links

Hi,

I have taken screenshots of the emails the customer receives once the order is placed and when it is shipped.

1.) In the order/payment email the link is showing the “mp-create account” url instead of showing the order number. Also I have noticed that tablet users and smartphone users are redirected to “order not found” page. The link only works for desktop pcs.

2.) The second email is generated after status to shipped. The text says that “The payment for the order is not yet complete”, and then it proceeds to say paid. This is confusing for the customer. Can this text be changed or is it an error generated from when the status is changed to shipped?

Also, again the link below now shows the order number but it redirects to “order not found” page when using a tablet or smartphone. It only works on desktop pcs.

Thanks

Alan

    Hello Alan,

    I hope you’re well today and thank you for your question!

    I took a look at the screenshots and it seems that the order were placed by “guest shoppers” and not registered users. That’s why the “create account” suffix was added. The issue here is that currently you cannot track order (check order details) as a non-logged in user with a device different that the one that the order was made from. Furthermore, you could clear browser’s cookies on the browser you placed order with and if you’re not logged in into your account, you will not be able to check order details as well.

    However, regardless whether you placed order as a “guest” or “registered” user, you can always track order after you login to your site – even if you created account afterwards.

    Assuming the link is working (e.g. on PC):

    – if you didn’t logged out of the site, the order details page will be shown;

    – if you logged out, you’ll be given an option to login to an account

    – if you don’t have an account, you’ll be able to register and system will pick up Order ID and assign it to your new account.

    We have already spoke with MarketPress developers about this workflow and although this is not a bug “per se”, they’re looking to implement a better workflow for order tracking with future releases. I’m not able to give you any ETA on this though yet.

    As for link not working on tablets/phones. Could you please let me know with what devices have you tested it (along with OS and Browser name and version) so I could also test it and investigate the issue?

    Best regards,

    Adam
