Oxygen Builder Not Saving – Oxygen Support Advises WPMU Hosting Support

Hello WPMU support.

I received the following tech support advice from Oxygen Builder support team.

My issue was Oxygen Builder was not saving in my newly spinned staging site, here on WPMU Hosting. Please see their response, and could you please advise a solution for sites hosted here and using Oxygen Builder?

Thank you kindly.

OXYGEN EMAIL:

The problem occurs because your server returns a 403 error when saving (https://d.pr/i/wWcBQU). A 403 error means “forbidden” and it occurs when the server/firewall prevents an action from taking place. You would need to work with your web host to find what action is being blocked so that they can whitelist it. If you send them login details for the site and a link to where they can see the 403 error, they should be able to inspect the site using their browser tools and check the Console tab for further information.

Additionally, when using WPMU, we’ve received feedback that some users need to add the following exceptions to the WAF firewall:
212340
211540
212800
211220
You’re hosting provider should be able to assist you with that if needed.

I hope this helps!

    Hi Ana ,

Trust you are doing good, and sorry you’re facing this issue.

This is a known issue with Oxygen Builder as our Web Application Firewall identifies the process as PHP Injection Attack. Unfortunately, due to the way Oxygen is saving the data (posting it to PHP), it’s triggering some of the typical rules designed to protect the sites from the most common types of attacks. It’s mainly due to the fact that it’s just adding the data in the query parameters in the URL.

I suggest you try whitelisting your device/network IP in the WAF, that should resolve the issue. You can find your IP using the following service: https://whatismyipaddress.com/

Please find more about how to whitelist your IP in our Web Application Firewall here: https://wpmudev.com/docs/hosting/tools-features/#waf-ip-lists

In case the issue persists, could you please enable support access to your website so that we could test saving changes in Oxygen Builder and see how it behaves to suggest what could be recommended further?

At the moment, support access is disabled. You can grant access from WPMU DEV > Support > Support Access > Grant Access, or check this manual:
    https://wpmudev.com/docs/getting-started/getting-support/#enabling-support-access

Please let us know once you enable access so we can get this sorted.

    Have a nice day.

    Kind Regards,
    Aamir Rather
