I have no idea if this is something that has been done. I haven’t found any…
One feature I was looking for in WP is the ability to vary the page width when employing a side bar template.
In 2011 for example you have the option of a narrower full with 100% page or content left or right.
What I wanted was a side bars template but be able to invoke a full width no sidebar page on a page by page basis.
In my case on another site I am working on I embedded a forum into the WP page but it was cramped into the page next to the side bar. I wanted to make it full page width but keep sidebars on other pages.
Playing about with all the custom sidebar plugins didn’t solve the problem. They were not able to solve this. My understanding is from reading about it that the theme set the space for the sidebar even if there is not anything in it. This can not (as yet) be overcome.
My suggestion would be for someone who has the skill (that’s not me!) to write a plug in that somehow rewrites the page set up structure to allow a full with 100% no sidebar template on an individual basis.
No, I have no idea ho you’d go about that. </!end-impossible idea>
