Prefix on the phone field

I am using the field phone on Forminator with a specific country validation. How can I force the prefix by default?

Hi Walid,

At the moment the prefix is added automatically only when International validation is used, I did forward it to our devs to see if we could add it for National validation as well in future updates.

I also asked if there was some workaround that could be applied so if there’s a way of doing this without changing core files we will update you here after checking.

  I can use international validation starting with preset 3 digits 971
  how can i do that?

Hi Walid,

When International validation is used then the input field will be populated with area code when a visitor selects the desired country and click on the input field.

When you’re editing your form open Phone module details and in Settings tab choose International validation, after that when country is selected on frontend it will add number prefix based on selection.

Hi again

i already know that – however the phone field international validation always start with code +1 USA

i need to always start with +971 United arab emirates. It is annoying for leads to scroll all the way down to UAE +971 since it is at the end of the International list

did u get my point?

Hi Walid,

At the moment USA is used as a default country and there’s no option set a different one to be used as default.
This is, however, something that we already have on our to-do list to add in one of the future versions.

I have prepared a custom snippet which you can use as a guide here:

You can download a zip, unzip it and upload file forminator-auto-add-dialing-code-for-phone-field.php to your wp-content/mu-plugins folder. If that folder doesn’t exist you can simply create it.

After that, please go to the form editor and change the Validation Type of the phone field to National type.

or you can paste it in your child theme’s functions.php file.

Sorry, it only works on the front-end, will not work on the preview form.
Can you add to a page and then test on front-end?

When I changed the form to render via ajax (https://monosnap.com/file/ItWTfV4rm5HeLdpC8ITr3P1M7shlog) the form still not appear even I removed the MU plugin. So it seems the issue from your theme or conflict with another plugin. It worked fine on my local site or live site:

And it’s late for me now, I will close check on your site tomorrow.

Hello Walid ,

There is a conflict of theme Brooklyn and Forminator. In this case, you can fix this in 2 ways:
1. If you have another SEO plugin, ex SmartCrawl, you can define this in the wp-config.php file to fix this:
define('WPSEO_VERSION', true');
Note, this action will disable the open graph and description meta tag of this theme.
Or 2. You can try this snippet code in your child theme’s functions.php file or add this to a new MU plugin file:
