With Pro Sites is it possible to have a free trial and require a credit card up front (on signup), but delay the charge until the end of the free trial period?
This has been shown to increase conversions since the credit card is already on file and is an effective customer acquisition strategy. You essentially get the best of both worlds by drawing more customers with the free trial, but filtering out the window shoppers by requiring a credit card.
Additionally, it’d be preferable if the new account/site wasn’t actually created until the card was validated to prevent a glut of abandoned sites.
I’ve been playing around with this for a few weeks, but haven’t been able to get it to work. Any ideas?
