[Smush Pro] Bulk Smush and Individual Smush not compressing most images

With both Bulk Smush and attempting to Smush individual images, Smush Pro repeatedly gives error message “Could not find /srv/htdocs/wp-content/uploads/…” for images I’ve uploaded to WP Media. Today’s Bulk Smush compressed only 3 images of 110 the plugin reported needed smushing. CDN is enabled. Thank you for your help!

    Hello Stephanie

It looks like you are using JetPack plugin, as it comes pre-installed for WordPress.com websites. JetPack has CDN functionality and there is likely a conflict there between JetPack and Smush CDN. You can only use one CDN network. This conflict can cause the images not found error. I would suggest only keeping one CDN enabled at all times.

Next, I can see that most of the images flagged by Smush as not found are actually image sizes, not the original image. This means that there are some thumbnails for images missing.

For example: “Could not find /srv/htdocs/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/person-smartphone-office-table-750×500.jpeg“. The original image person-smartphone-office-table.jpeg is still there, but the 750×500 size can’t be found.

You can try to regenerate the thumbnails with this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails-advanced/

Feel free to ask any questions you may have in this thread.

    Thank you,
    Alex
