    Hi Pamela,

I had a look at your site and actually couldn’t see any performance issues with Smush activated.
I checked it first with Smush deactivated and without clearing the cache the load times were between 1.7 and 1.9 seconds, and with caches cleared it was around 16 seconds.

When I activated Smush and cleared all the caches the load times were similar, around 17 seconds, but when I left W3TC to regenerate its cache and browser cache to kick in the load dropped to between 1.5 and 1.6 seconds.
I also asked couple of my colleagues to check it out from their end as we’re scattered over the world and from different locations there were no performance issues whatsoever.

When you switched to pro version did you made sure that W3TC cache is cleared as if it was caching some older files it could have affected the overall functionality and increase the load times?

I left Smush enabled as multiple locations confirmed it works fine but if you do encounter issues again can you tell me which browser and OS you are using, what is your location where you’re checking the site from and if you see any errors in browser console.

    Best regards,
    Predrag

While the homepage site speed is ok, if you look at other pages the time slows down dramatically. The store page for example is 19.3s. We only added caching AFTER both Free and Pro no longer were working as a recommendation of the first tech. After more than 2 hours on a chat yesterday, the tech was escalating us as the he found the load times distressing. I even created a temporary login to our site which went unused so that further investigation could be made. Smush Free or Pro BOTH cause slow speed times with all pages. It’s only when they are deactivated that we become snappy. We made no changes to our site except to upgrade to Pro. Once that happened neither work version work. There have been countless hours spent trying to get some kind of resolution and while I am grateful for the time spent by your team, I am not functioning as before the upgrade. I very much want this to work, but am becoming frustrated and distressed. Too many people have looked at my site finding the same slow speeds and can’t uncover an issue. It had been suggested to methodically turn off each plugin to determine if one is a conflict. That would make sense IF any change to them had been made. The only change that was made was upgrading to PRO, then it all broke. After that we added caching, which has made no positive impact and will be deactivated as an unnecessary addition. Google, Safari both show the same issue. Please, please help me! Thanks,
    Pamela

    Hi Pamela,

I’m sorry that I didn’t make my previous response completely clear, the tests that I’ve performed were all regarding your /shop/ page.
As you can see from my tests the slow loading times without caching we’re happening without Smush as well so there seems to be something else affecting the site performance.

If you have a staging site where we could do some additional tests with other plugins disabled we’d gladly investigate it further if you grant us support access.

    Best regards,
