Still can't get Ultimate Facebook to post? An alternative.

If you are still having trouble getting Ultimate Facebook to do your posts for you, here is a solution you might try as an alternative till you can get it going.

This is not as powerful as UF, and doesn’t do all UF can do, but it does send your posts to Facebook (and other places). And it is free, and easy to set up. You don’t need your own Facebook app to use it.

I have described all the steps in my blog post. I hope it helps someone, if you are still having problems getting your app approved and are in a hurry.

    You don't need to have your app approved by facebook, only for certain features.

    If you use the minimum set of permissions (screenshot 1) app approval isn't required.

    you just need to grant the extended permissions, and that's it.

    Hi,

    Items such as Events & opengraph if you want to get users personal details that aren’t part of the main profile etc would require app approval, but site admins don’t need app approval as they are the admin of the site & you are the admin of the app in FB, so approval isn’t required as you are only posting to your own timelines/pages, UFB doesn’t post to ordinary user pages, so that is not a requirement at all.

    If you want other admins & roles such as editors & authors to be able to auto post to their timelines too, then they will each have to grant extended permissions and you can simply add them as a developer to your FB app, this will then give them approval without the app needing to be reviewed and approved by facebook.

    Can you update to latest version of the plugin and check if it works fine for you, there are few modifications in the plugin.

    Also as @Vaughan pointed out, you need not to submit the app for reviewing, as you are the app administrator.
