Trying to get this to look like current live site

http://www.yellowtennisball.com/online2/sponsorship-partners.html

That is a joomla site looking to the bottom of that page you will see text links spanning across 3 columns in alphabetical order.

I have added all the text links to the Links section in WP and wanting to do the same thing posting the Sponsor Category on my page to look the same as Joomla site.

Not like they are showing up now on this page of WP new site

Hey @tomi_garguilo I just noticed a similar post in another thread and that @Arun had responded. Did you send him the login credentials he needed? If not you can rest assured that he should be able to get this solved for you in a timely manner. Hes a great guy.

when sending the email to him I’m sure that you got that you don’t include the spaces and replace the [at] with the @. firs time i saw an email like that I thought man that really has to be in a foreign country as their email addresses are really weird. Anyway don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions.

For now send @Arun the login credentials and watch the magic happen.

    Thanks Aecnu,

Do you do support. To be honest I am so far behind on my project and can use all the help I can get. I am a graphic designer/web builder/non programmer and built this site

http://www.yellowtennisball.com/online2/ 2 years ago using joomla, and I am very new to WP and finding a lot of modules and plugins are not available for WP and this is a 200+ page project and trying to do all this on my own using firebug to make the adjustments through trial and error. The new site is http://www.yellowtennisball.com/itc

using YooThemes template and finding it hard to get what I need at is on the joomla site. There are elements I can not find using firebug and really need to figure out before I pull the rest of my hair out. I was hoping you would have some plugins for me to use but I am not finding anything but like I said I am a noob only working with WP for a year now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all for your time and help

I just checked out the WP site again and it’s really looking great. Only problem is when viewing on my phone it doesn’t show the page until I select to view the desktop version. Then it looks great. Towards the bottom there is a link to view the Mobil version, when I click on that I bet the blank page again with the click to view desktop version.

My question about switching was more out of curiosity as to why you were switching when you had a good looking site to begin with.

For example the main reason I switched to WP was that my old sites had a ton of flash content. So I quickly lost my rankings on the search engine as well as they didn’t display on the iPAd and most Mobil devices.

Thanks for complement, I love to WOW I just wish I know css like I know design, I like the custom look not so template looking. I taught myself everything I know in joomla doing this site and I am hoping to learn just as much with WP but it is not looking that way at the moment, they are so much different, I just do not understand all the elements of WP.

The flash elements are another reason for the switch and WP works well with the SE’s

I beat myself up trying to get things perfect and try to find the time to learn css but things move so fast once you learn one thing here comes a new and faster, better, and more features…

I have not worked on the mobile side of the site I have over a hundred more pages to go and I still am playing with adjustments, and elements I just can not figure out.

Joomla has great mods to help you achieve what I am pulling my hair out trying to do, maybe there are in WP just don’t know what to look for and then when I do I need a masters degree getting it working the way I need it to work.

I just installed NexGen so I can use it for my sponsor logos and I can not figure that one out, how to get it to load on a page and then add site links to the images…

I have been putting about 18 a day non stop but I am just spinning my wheels here.

The other problem is I have no budget to pay for help :slight_frown:

So I keep plugging away and hope I can get some answers here.

    Back to the hamster wheel.

Wishing all a safe and happy holiday, I know where I will be.

Hey Tomi, I’ll be back in my studio in an hour or so and can probably help you with the next gen and how to link to your sponsors.

I understand about things change. I’m more of a creative as well but used to program back in the days of xbase, dbase, etc… when the web first became available nobody knew how to do what I wanted to do so had to learn myself.

Personally I’d prefer to be photographing or videoing sports, model portfolios etc…. or editing the videos.

I’ll try to touch base in N hour or so.

Hey Tomi, back in the studio now and discovered that NextGen has a new update. Photocrati had bought out nextGen and one of my requests was a way to add a link with the photos in NextGen but I don’t see that currently added.

I have to find some of my old code where I had worked around this earlier so will get back to you as soon as i find it. thanks for your patience.

Also let me know if you’re on the latest version of Nextgen and also if you use lightroom in your workflow.

As far as the Mark 3 I hear that it’s a great camera from my photojournalist friends. I personally started with the Nikon FG back in the day. The final selling point on that camera was the fact that it was the only camera that you could still use (film days of course) even if the batteries totally died. Options were limited but other than my Hasselblad (not good for shooting sports) that was the camera.

So I had all of the lens’s and Nikon is still a great camera as well.

anyway sorry to go off topic. I’ll be back in a bit

    Thanks Dean

I figured out how to add the logos http://www.yellowtennisball.com/itc/sponsors/

the text links are the problem right now, I do not see how I can add links to logos even though it says you are able to do it.

I have a Nikon D300 that I was using for tennis 8 frames a sec I was able to get a few good shots.

Trying to sell all my nikon stuff, Sigma 70-200 2.8, tamaron 27-70 2.8 I know they are not nikon glass but they did a pretty good job, and I shoot a lot of motorcycles

here is a link to a photo I entered into a competition

Did a little work with it as you will see.

@tomi_garguilo Nice photo of the bike. Also nice bike. Would love to own that one. I personally have a 1986 Honda Shadow. Couldn’t afford A Harley so I bought one that looked like one.

Wish I could afford to take the D300 off of your hands but finances are a bit tight now and looking for some paying gigs. BTW if you need another photog or video dude for your team I can be available reasonably priced for the dates listed on your website.

Let me know if the code above helped or not. If you need anything else just reply here or my direct email is kausphoto [at} gmail [dot] com

Look forward to hearing how things turn out.

Do you have a photo website?

I have a 2010 Road Glide and a 92 fatboy that I have not road in about 4 years :slight_frown: live in Orlando

I live in Aurora, IL about 40 miles south west of Chicago. However I’ve worked all over the world. I’ve covered several NBA games back in the the days of Michael Jordan, Pippen, Rodman and Horrace Grant, Covered the Bears just after their championship team. (started photography business in 1987) Covered several Concerts, Kenny Loggins, Gloria Estapfan, Celion Dion, Evanescence and several more. The concerts were more challenging due to the constant changing lights and angles. Of course I did weddings for 24 years to pay the bills but after 3 bridezillas In a row, my rates really went up. So for a lot of money i can put up with just about anyone for a couple of days.

I just started riding again last year. My wife and I were in a sever auto accident Dec. of 2006 and took a long time to recover.

Anyway keep me in mind for any photo or video needs. On an additional note my Video camera is the NX5U so I can shoot both high and standard def at the same time. Also I can shoot up to 11 hours HD without having to stop or reload (I do need electric for non stop) i also have direct HD/SD-SDI: BNC output for live feed for TV or Stream feeds.

I don’t have any of my professional video posted due to confidentiality agreements.

Most of the larger companies want complete control over everything.

Anyway off topic again. Hope I was able to help in some small way!

Look forward to working with you in the future!

Yes it seams like that, I guess one thing can lead to another. I have been able to head in another direction, Dean was a big help and after his suggestions I was able to find another option.

Thanks to everyone for your help, 3 down and a lot to go…lol what a project I have myself involved in 200+ pages breaking it down one page at a time.
