website link in members directory

On a members’ public profile page, is there a way to make the website url an active link (that opens a new tab)?

On my site it looks like this:

Website: http://www.mydomain.com

But it’s not an active link.

    Hi Amy,

    Very sorry for that! I just didn’t recall the Members Directory having a profile section, it’s been a while since I’ve taken a good look at it!

    To show the url as a link, you can replace line 564 of members-directory.php with this:

    $content .= '<strong>' . __('Website') . '</strong>: ' . '<a href="' . $user_website . '">' . $user_website . '</a><br />';

    You can easily add that in through your admin area at Network Admin > Plugins, where you can select to Edit the Members Directory plugin. Then make that adjustment in the editor.

    It’s just easier using an external editor on your computer, one that shows line numbers. Here’s an amazing free one: http://notepad-plus-plus.org/

    Hope that helps! Let us know how that works for ya!
