Well, I actually have four questions. If that’s not allowed, please let me know!

1- When I click on STORE, all I see is a list:

Products

Shopping Cart

Order Status

I would like to see products images immediately. In “Product List View” I selected GRID. What did I miss? I use the Classic store style.

2- My store is setup with Paypal Express Checkout, and I’m storing my files on Mediafire. Can I do that? That would save me some precious bandwidth.

3- I setup a digital download for a CD. Once it’s done and I click ADD TO CART, this button resolve back to ADD TO CART. If I click it again, to add another copy, I get this message “Sorry, there is a per order limit of 1 for (CD name).

4- How come we can’t see any VIEW CART button on the sidebar, or beside the products ADD TO CART button? People have to go to the top menu, slick on store, then shopping cart to be able to see what’s in it. That’s not very intuitive. What should I do to correct this?

    thanks for posting.

    #1 you can customize your store page by editing the stores page in dashboard > pages

    you will need to use the different shortcodes such as [mp_list_products]

    you can find all the shortcodes in dashboard > products > store options > shortcodes tab

    #2 i’m not so sure as i haven’t tried it. but you can enter a direct url link to the file in the product download section when you add a new product. (see screenshot), if that doesn’t work then you’ll need to upload it via the uploader unfortunately.

    #3 a digital download only accepts a quantity of 1. currently marketpress does not allow variations of digital products, if you are offering multiple digital files you will need to create a product for each file.

    #4 if you go to appearances > widgets

    there’s a widget called shopping cart, if you add this widget to your sidebar, this should give you the cart in the sidebar.

    That was really helpful. Now I have a few more things:

    1- I’d like to place the shortcode [mp_store_navigation] in the sidebar, however it’s not triggering the navigation. I put it in a TEXT widget, but it’s only showing the shortcode.

    2- I think it’s normal for digital downloads to only have one (1) per order limit. Who buys two downloads of the same product? Physical products won’t have that restriction.

    I’ll keep on playing around to complete the work and will come back if I have any more questions.

    I actually have a Paypal question now. I tried to purchase this book:

    I filled out all the proper info and when I clicked “Continue Checkout,” I got this error message:

    There was a problem connecting to PayPal to setup your purchase. Please try again.

    10002 – Security error – Security header is not valid

    What does that mean?

    On the phone with Paypal. MarketPress doesn’t seem to offer Paypal Standard payments, only ProFlow and Express. Having a premium account, I should be able to use Express Checkout, but then the whole API setting is confusing.

    I don’t see a “API SIGNATURE” in my Paypal account. I see the API username, password, and a long FINGERPRINT number. I entered them all, the fingerprint in the signature field, and it’s not in sandbox status, but LIVE.

    I did a search on the forum, and I’m not the first who met this issue. But I don’t see any clear instructions to fix this issue.
