Why did the Wiki tab in my dashboard suddenly disapear?

That’s about the long and short of it…When I hover over ‘New’ in the top of the dashboard the option for wiki is still there, and my wiki’s are still showing up on the page, but the actual that allows access into all things like ‘Wiki Categories,’ and ‘Settings’ etc…

Tracing my steps back I just downloaded some other plugins, but then went back and deactivated them, and it didn’t help.

I tried deactivating and re-activating the Wiki plugin, but that don’t make it re-appear either. I am afraid that if I just delete it and re-install it then all of my wiki’s will get erased.

I just paid for this plugin and can’t really use it much at all until that tab shows back up…I really appreciate the help in advance.

    Hi there @Jason

Welcome to WPMU DEV, glad to have you aboard!

And happy new year to you and yours!

All the wiki pages are accessible by entering the full URL in the browser address bar, so we know that plugin functioning.

The absence of the menu item in the admin sidebar is likely due to another plugin occupying the same menu position. Most probably the Counter Statistic or Sidebar menu items.

Try deactivating whichever plugins are adding those items to your menu.

You can adjust the menu position by editing the value on line 154 of wiki/wiki.php in the plugin files.

However, that would need to be done every time you update the plugin. Not ideal.

I’m not quite sure if a custom function can be added that can modify that. So I’ve asked our 2nd-level support team for their input. Perhaps one of those wiz-kids has a better idea than editing the plugin file.

    Hey Jason,

Do post back here if the tab is still not working, or you can open a new thread for other issues.

    @ Patrick,

Looks like Jason found the conflict about 30 seconds before you posted the solution  . It was the counter plugin he was using as you suggested.

I am still subscribed to this thread, but marking it as resolved based on the last reply by Jason.

    Cheers
