[Smush Pro] Still slow!

I’m using the plugin in the last 3 months and I’m still receiving feedback that the website is slow! What we can do it to solve this problem?

    Hi Junimba

    Thanks for reaching us!

I’ve just checked your site and it took almost 4 seconds to load, as for test report https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.junimba.com.br/OwrYgoxr

From previous report / speed test I can add following information:

    1) The “Serve scaled images” is happening due to a large resize in HTML/CSS.

    For instance, these three images:

    https://www.example.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/historias-babas.jpg
    https://www.example.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/contax-destak.jpg

Their dimensions are above 1000px and they could be scaled to 600px width or so, and this can save aronud 1.1 MB or reduction which can improve the performance of your webpage, especially on low-powered (eg. mobile) devices.

A solution for this would be manually resize them to the suggested dimensions on report.

    2) “Defer parsing of JavaScript” can be improved with Hummingbird.

Hummingbird comes with Asset Optimization panel where you can tweak how your files are handled during load, so you can defer, minimize, combine and move them to load in footer.

There’s no automated way of doing this so you would need to go to Hummingbird > Asset Optimization, enable Advanced mode in there (you should see a notification once you activate Asset optimization), and go file by file or in small batches, after this check frontend after any change, in case you need to revert this action.

You can find more info on Humminbird documentation page, under Minification section, here:
    https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/hummingbird/

    3) Optimize Images, from the report. Please check in your Smush Pro settings:

Smush Pro -> Bulk Smush is enabled from your end.

Please provide support access for this site so I could take a closer look at this and provide further recommendations.

    Looking forward your information.
    Regards,
    Jacobo.
