Marcel started building WordPress websites in 2008 to promote his professional entertainment & speaking businesses. When not on stage or travelling, he continued to expand his skills as a freelance WordPress webmaster & became a WPMUDEV Member, integrating & working extensively with WPMUDEV's hosting & premium plugins. Upon retiring from his on-stage career, Marcel decided to apply this knowledge & experience, and joined WPMUDEV as a First Level Support Hero in 2021. He is committed to delivering the same kind of helpful, friendly & expert support that he experienced as a Member (& enthusiastic fan). When he's not providing Member Support in Live Chat, he's the editor/writer of internal documentation, & hangs out in the internal Support communication channels. Marcel attended the first WordCamp in Cape Town, South Africa in 2008—a pivotal event that initiated his love for the WordPress environment & community.
