[Shipper Pro] Very frustrating, many attempts over the past few years (Network subsite -> Single S

I had been trying to use Shipper Pro to export network’s subsite to single site for many times and almost none of the time the plugin can work by itself.

I don’t understand why the plugin offered API migration if 100% fail in my past experience?

I understand WPMU offered great support, but judging on the plugin’s quality that almost everytime needed additional support that involving the time and flow (I listed down so that you know how much efforts on both side):
– writing this ticket (5~10 minutes to make sure all information are here)
– WPMU reply (might take 10~20 minutes to prepare the proposition, or even more, even with support access granted)
– go and forth (each time incur task delay and response required from both side which involve gathering accurate information)
– and then just to solve one feature’s task – API MIGRATION

I had lose faith towards this particular feature and I hope the plugin’s team can consider removing high-failure feature(s) and focusing on perhaps one or two main feature that will be at least 95% and above working all the time.

FYI, I triggered API migration and completed, but I can’t login the destination site

I had granted support access to my original network site (jagole.com)

*NOTE: support is great as in they will help solving it in a manual way, but for me it’s very time consuming and resources-wasted.

    Sorry to hear you are having this issue.

    Indeed we are aware of some issues with the Shipper plugin and our team added this under maintenance mode, similar to what we did in Snapshot v2 in the past we will take a deeper look at the plugin, bring up all the needs that the plugin requires to be improved and improve it before implementing any new feature to it.

    But this does require some time and we can’t give an estimated time yet.

    About the migrated site, I see the plugin failed to migrate one image, menu and font, those could be imported manually but the login not working needs to be investigated too.

    In case you are able to send the cPanel as well it will be helpful as we can access the Phpmyadmin to check the tables.

    Thanks for sharing the access to review the site host settings.

    Based on the latest tests, the site is timing out before completing the migration, it seems the server is not able to maintain the migration process alive and is interrupting the process. Shipper tries to increase the Memory limit temporarily when detects a slow migration process, but the value is restricted in the site. We’d recommend to allow the Memory limit up to 512MB if possible, so Shipper can allocate resources as necessary.

    Also, when reviewing the database configuration, we noticed several tables still using the MyISAM storage engine (there is a mix of InnoDB and MyISAM tables), which could cause a slower performance in the site and consequently affecting the migration process. An alternative solution would be to change the storage engine to InnoDB for all tables, but before proceeding, make sure a full backup of the site has been created.
